In a scathing attack on the Himachal Pradesh Congress government, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has accused the ruling administration of siphoning off loans to benefit former Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Addressing a gathering in Shimla during the launch of a BJP membership drive, the actress-turned-politician alleged that the Congress party has hollowed out state coffers through corruption.

Ranaut expressed concerns about the state’s finances, claiming that disaster relief funds are being misused. “If we give disaster funds, they should go to the CM Relief Fund, but everyone knows it goes to the Sonia relief fund,” she alleged, doubling down on accusations that Himachal Pradesh’s financial crisis has worsened under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

She further criticized the state government’s handling of public services, claiming that delays in salaries, pensions, and the rollback of free electricity and water facilities have left the state in a dire situation. Ranaut urged citizens to join the BJP in large numbers to uproot the Congress government, which she claims has taken Himachal Pradesh decades backwards.

Targeting Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Ranaut referenced her own Lok Sabha campaign, stating, “People are tired of the potholes on roads,” while demanding greater accountability from the state’s ministers. She also highlighted the issue of deteriorating sports facilities in primary schools, warning of a “conspiracy to destroy Himachal’s future athletes.”

Ranaut pledged to establish a large sports center in her constituency, Mandi, to support young athletes and encourage their early development in sports.

Concluding her speech, she lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “Yug Purush” who handles issues with meticulous attention to detail, positioning the BJP as the solution to the state’s challenges.
