J&K Exit Poll 2024 Date and Time: The highly-anticipated exit poll predictions of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly election 2024 will be announced on October 5, Saturday, after the voting for the Haryana Assembly election is concluded.

The J&K Assembly polls to elect 90 members were conducted in three phases with the first phase of voting taking place on September 18, second phase on September 25 and third and final phase on October 1.

On Saturday, several news channels along with pollsters are expected to make their predictions about the outcome of the poll results in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. The exit poll predictions are expected to be announced only after 6.30 pm on Saturday, after voting for the assembly elections is concluded at all the polling booths, ensuring that voters can cast their ballots without any external influence.

According to the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) guidelines, outlined under Section 126A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the publication or dissemination of exit poll results is prohibited from the start of voting until half an hour after the polling ends.

The embargo is imposed whenever assembly or Lok Sabha elections are announced and is lifted once voting concludes in all states participating in that electoral cycle.

Elections in Jammu and Kashmir were conducted this year after almost a decade as the last elections were held in 2014. In 2014, most exit polls predicted a hung assembly in the erstwhile state. The exit polls proved to be accurate since J&K did not have a clear winner in the previous assembly elections and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formed a coalition government.
