Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar, accompanied by his wife, visited the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Wednesday. Officials reported that Azar arrived in Ayodhya on Tuesday evening and departed for an event in the nearby Basti district on Wednesday morning after his visit to the temple.

On Tuesday, he met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. After the meeting, Adityanath spoke about the “deep bond” shared between Uttar Pradesh and Israel.

In a post on X, Adityanath wrote, “Had a highly fruitful and meaningful discussion with Mr. Reuven Azar, Ambassador of Israel to India. This meeting marks another step towards strengthening the deep bond between UP and Israel in areas of mutual interest.”

Azar thanked Adityanath and praised the growth and development efforts undertaken in the state. He further thanked the government for its “support” for Israel and its hospitality. “Congratulations to you for your work in making Uttar Pradesh more secure and prosperous. We are committed to working on the issues discussed,” he said. 

Discussions were held on enhancing the security of Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025 using Israeli technology. Additionally, Israel will invest in Uttar Pradesh’s semiconductor and water sectors, according to the Chief Minister’s Office. The meeting between the chief minister and the Israeli ambassador also explored expanding skilled manpower from Uttar Pradesh to Israel, as well as cooperation in agriculture and irrigation.
