The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a wet spell over Northwest India today. It has also forecasted an isolated heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the next 4-5 days. The Met Office has further stated that Scattered rainfall with isolated thunderstorms accompanied with lightning is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad while isolated rainfall will be witnessed over parts of Himachal Pradesh.
Withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon:-
The Southwest Monsoon on Friday further withdrew from most parts of Bihar, remaining parts of Jharkhand, some parts of Sub-Himalayan and Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, some of Andhra Pradesh, most parts of Telangana, and some parts of north interior Karnataka.
Highest Rainfall in past 24 hours
On Friday, the heavy rainfall was witnessed over Ponmudi (Kerala) receiving 12cm, Chittar (Tamil Nadu) 10cm, Thiraparappu (Tamil Nadu) 9cm, Enamakkal (Kerala) 8cm, and Mani (Karnataka) 7cm.

Delhi
The national capital is likely to experience partly cloudy skies with maximum and minimum temperatures being around 36 and 20 degrees Celsius.
Kerala
The Regional Met Office, Thiruvananthapuram has forecasted that Rain or thundershowers is most likely to occur at most places in the state. The districts such as Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki will receive heavy rainfall today. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty winds, speed reaching 30-40 Kmph, are also very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala. “Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea areas,” IMD said.
Tamil Nadu
The Chennai-based Regional Met Office has predicted that Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Ghat areas of Coimbatore, Theni and Dindigul districts. It further added that Sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy. The maximum temperature is likely to be 33-34 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature is likely to be 25-26 degrees Celsius.
