The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a formation of a low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal on Tuesday. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over west central Bay of Bengal around November 16. Andaman and Nicobar Island is expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall with thunderstorms accompanied with lightning.
In addition, the Met office has forecasted a light to moderate rainfall at many places accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. The weather office has also advised fishermen not to venture into the sea.
A look at weather conditions across several states:-
- Delhi: The national capital will remain partly cloudy sky with shallow to moderate fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 27 and 12 degrees Celsius respectively. On Monday, the maximum and minimum temperature settled at 28.5 and 12 degrees Celsius respectively.
- West Bengal, Sikkim: In Kolkata, the sky will remain mainly clear. The maximum and minimum temperatures are most likely to be around 30 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively. The dry weather will prevail in most parts over Sikkim and all the districts of sub Himalayan West Bengal.
- Jammu and Kashmir: The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will experience mainly dry weather today. In Srinagar, the maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 17 and 1 degrees Celsius respectively. Jammu will experience a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius.
- Himachal Pradesh: Shimla, the state capital, will experience maximum and minimum temperatures of 18 and 9 degrees Celsius respectively. The dry weather will prevail in the plains, middle hills and upper reaches of the state. In the past 24 hours, the lowest temperature was recorded at Keylong at (-)1.1 degrees Celsius.
