A man allegedly stabbed his wife and beheaded her over the suspicion of infidelity at JNNURM Colony in Hyderabad’s Abdullapurmet on Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Pushpalatha, was allegedly killed by her husband, an auto driver named Vijay, who is said to have frequently harassed her.

The accused took his 41-year-old wife to his sister’s newly allotted vacant 2BHK house on the pretext of cleaning it. There he reportedly stabbed her to death. He then severed her head and kept it aside in the flat, a report by Time of India said quoting police.

After killing her, Vijay exited the flat in blood-stained clothes shocking locals, who raised an alarm.

Police reached the spot and took Vijay into custody. They also found Pushpalatha’s beheaded body and severed head from his sister’s flat, and seized the murder weapon from Vijay’s possession.

A murder case has been registered against the accused under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to police, Vijay and Pushapalatha got married 15 years ago and the couple have two children. The couple had a strained relationship as Vijay suspected his wife’s fidelity and used to harass her frequently.

In the past as well, Vijay has left his family and house. He returned after Pushpalatha filed a missing case.
