Heavy rainfall lashed Saputara in the Dang district of Gujarat on Monday resulting in affecting the daily life of commuters. The continuous heavy downpour for a couple of days has led to waterlogging and even a similar situation like a flood in many places of the states. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for heavy rainfall in this state.

Orange alerts issued for these regions of Gujarat

The IMD has orange alerts for several regions in Gujarat for heavy showers like Ahmedabad, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Saurashtra, Kutch, Mehsana, Surat, Dang, Kheda, Anand, Valsad, Tapi, Narmada, Bharuch, Patan, Vadodra, Tapi, Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha and Aravalli.

Similar weather conditions have been predicted to occur in the union territories of Daman and Dadara Nagar Haveli, Porabandar, Botad, Diu, Rajkot, Morbi, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Botad, Jamnagar, Amreli, Gir Somanth, and Junagadh.

IMD’s Forecast for heavy rainfall in West & Central India

The Met Department has also warned that there could be heavy rainfall at isolated places of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan Goa, and across Gujarat regions from July 29 to August 1. As per the official report by ANI, Vijaynagar in Sabarkantha, Vansda in Navsari, Idar taluka and Petland in Anand received a record level of rainfall of 1 inch.

Meanwhile, the monsoon festival (Megh Malhar Parva) is all set to begin today and will continue till August 28 in Saputara as per the Gujarat government. The festival will be inaugurated by Gujarat’s chief minister Bhupendra Patel.
