At least 10 people were injured when terrorists launched a grenade attack in a busy flea market in the Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, reported The Indian Express. The incident occurred near the heavily secured Tourist Reception Centre (TRC). Police and paramilitary units quickly arrived at the scene to assist with evacuating the injured and to initiate a search operation to locate the attackers. The explosion triggered chaos, causing shoppers to flee for safety.
The attack occurred just a day after security forces neutralised a high-ranking Pakistani commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the Khanyar area of downtown Srinagar. The injured individuals were immediately taken to a hospital, while a combined team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces sealed off the area in an effort to capture the perpetrators of the attack.
