Delhi is under a Yellow alert, with moderate to heavy rainfall anticipated over the weekend, the IMD said on Saturday. Residents have been advised to prepare for potential disruptions as the city experiences its monsoon peak. And those with elaborate weekend plans, might be in for a disappointment.

Temperatures in Delhi will fluctuate between 32°C and 26°C, with light to moderate rain expected until August 15. The recent rainfall has led to waterlogging and traffic issues, but air quality remains satisfactory at an AQI of 59. 

According to the IMD, this weather pattern will continue throughout the week. On August 11, the temperature will stay between 32°C and 26°C under cloudy skies with light to moderate rain. Similar conditions are forecast for the following days, with temperatures ranging from 33°C to 25°C, along with occasional light rain or thunderstorms.

Orange alert in several parts of country

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across several states for Saturday, August 10. States including central Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh are bracing for significant downpour. 

The meteorological department has also issued an Orange alert for Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and east Rajasthan due to the likelihood of isolated heavy rainfall.

In its latest bulletin, the IMD warned of heavy rainfall exceeding 12 cm in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and West Madhya Pradesh. Other regions, such as Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Odisha, and the Konkan & Goa areas, are also expected to experience heavy rainfall ranging from 7 cm upwards.
