Four apartments in a residential complex in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, were ravaged by a massive fire ignited by a generator explosion. However, there were no reported casualties, but the inferno consumed furniture and personal belongings within the affected units.

The blaze erupted at Arihant Harmony Society in Ahimsakhand-2, Indirapuram, when a generator malfunctioned, triggering a powerful blast, reports NDTV.

A spokesperson from the fire department said that the presence of diesel-filled drums near the generator fueled the flames, leading to their rapid spread.

Upon ignition, the fire swiftly engulfed four apartments adjacent to the generator, with eyewitnesses capturing footage of orange flames reaching the society’s terrace and thick plumes of black smoke soaring into the sky.

Five fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and fire personnel established two water hose lines to extinguish the flames. Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal said that the blaze was brought under control within 45 minutes. An investigation into the root cause of the generator fire is currently underway.

Meanwhile, in a heartwarming display of solidarity, residents from a nearby society were seen offering prayers for the safety of those affected as emergency responders initiated rescue efforts.
