A FIR has been filed in Rajasthan against Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, along with six Hyundai officials, over a car with alleged manufacturing defects. Both actors are brand ambassadors for the company, according to a report by Bhaskar English.

The case was registered in Bharatpur after a local resident, Kirti Singh, complained that his Hyundai Alcazar SUV, which he bought in 2022 for over Rs 23 lakh, started facing serious technical problems just months after purchase. He claimed the company ignored his repeated complaints and did nothing to fix the issues.

“After driving the car for 6-7 months, technical faults started appearing. It would make noise and vibrate when driven at high speeds. The car shows malfunction signs on the engine management system,” she stated in complaint.

Singh first approached the police, but when they refused to register his case, he moved court. Following the court’s directions, Bharatpur’s Mathura Gate police station lodged the FIR on August 25 under various sections of the IPC and the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the report mentioned.

In his petition, Singh named Hyundai Motor India’s top executives, including Managing Director Anso Kim, COO Tarun Garg, and Malwa Auto Sales Pvt. Ltd. MD Nitin Sharma and Director Priyanka Sharma. He also held Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone responsible for endorsing the brand, alleging that their promotions misled buyers into trusting a defective product.

So far, neither Shah Rukh nor Deepika’s teams have responded to the case.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan’s next film King will feature his daughter Suhana Khan and is being directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie is also expected to star Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma.
