The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory on Wednesday ahead of the farmers’ mahapanchayat that is to be held at the Ramlila Maidan, Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, today (March 14). The mahapanchayat is scheduled to commence at 11 am and conclude by 2:50 pm. The Delhi Police have limited the number of protestors to 5,000 and prohibited the carrying of sticks or any other sharp weapons. Traffic restrictions have been implemented in critical areas including ITO, Mathura Road, and nearby vicinities.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) plans to convene the ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ at the venue to advocate for the acceptance of farmers’ demands, notably including legislation on the Minimum Support Price (MSP). A substantial turnout from across India is anticipated for the protest.
