The five state assembly elections will conclude on Thursday, November 30 with the final voting taking place in Telangana state for a total 119 constituencies. According to the official schedule by the Election Commission of India, the counting of votes will start on December 3, Sunday. On the same day, ECI will announce the results of all five states – Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram.
As per the official notice by the Election Commission, the exit polls of five states including Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan will only start after half an hour when Telangana concludes its assembly elections on November 30. To recall the voting schedule, Rajasthan conducted assembly elections for 200 seats on November 25 in a single phase similar to Madhya Pradesh. The MP concluded assembly elections on November 17. On the other hand, Chhattisgarh conducted the assembly elections in two phases, on November 7 and November 17 respectively. The election process started with Mizoram elections on November 7.
Telangana Exit poll 2023:
The Election Commission of India, an independent body responsible for conducting elections in India also ensures ‘free, fair, participative, accessible, inclusive and safe election.’ To maintain the standards of Indian elections, the ECI has prohibited any form of exit polls till 7 pm of November 30, 2023.
Elections for five states were held between November 7 and November 30, beginning with Mizoram on November 7 and ending with Telangana on November 30. The poll body stated in its notification, which arrived late in October, that it has prohibited “conducting and publishing or publicising exit poll by means of print or electronic media or dissemination in any other manner whatsoever” between 7.00 am on November 7, 2023 (Tuesday) and 6.30 pm on November 30, 2023 (Thursday).
