A day after the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) conducted search operations at 13 locations linked to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Amanatullah Khan and his associates under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA), the agency said that it is investigating three fresh FIRs filed by the Delhi Police against him.
The investigation by the ED was initiated following an FIR registered by the CBI under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and the Indian Penal Code, 1860. Additionally, three more FIRs registered by the Delhi Police are under ED investigation, the agency said.

“Further three (03) more FIRs registered by Delhi Police are under investigation by ED as the role of Amanatullah Khan and his associates came into light,” the ED said in a statement.
The ED searches were related to a case involving the unlawful hiring of employees by the Delhi Wakf Board and unlawful personal profits made through the unfair leasing of the organisation’s facilities when Amanatullah Khan served as chairman from 2018 to 2022, reported ANI.

The ED alleges that its investigation has revealed that Amanatullah Khan acquired substantial proceeds of crime from these activities, including a cash amount, invested in various immovable properties in Delhi under the names of his associates.
During the search operations, the ED claimed to have seized several incriminating records and physical as well as digital evidence, suggesting Amanatullah Khan’s involvement in money laundering.
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide evidence of AAP leaders’ involvement in any scams.
Kejriwal claimed that the recent raid on Amanatullah was a deliberate move by Modi to undermine AAP. Challenging him to present evidence of alleged bus, road, and electricity scams, Kejriwal said, “The raid on Amanatullah yesterday is a part of Modi ji’s plan to end AAP. Kejriwal has committed a bus scam, road scam and electricity scam, I am challenging Modi ji to show proof. All these investigations that are going on are fake and their purpose is not to end corruption. He added, Their aim is only to harass the opposition. Modi Ji has become very arrogant. When the king of a country becomes so arrogant, then how can that country progress?”
The raids at the premises of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan come shortly after the arrest of AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.
