Pakistan will earn revenue from the India-Pakistan match in Asia Cup, which it can use to attack people again, like the terrorists did in Pahalgam four months back, said the wife of one of the victims. Aishanya Dwivedi, wife of Pahalgam victim Shubham Dwivedi criticised the BCCI and Indian cricketers for playing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025.
“BCCI should not have accepted a match between India and Pakistan…I think BCCI is not sentimental towards those 26 families…What are our cricketers doing? It is said that cricketers are nationalists. It is viewed as our national game. But except 1-2 cricket players, nobody stepped forward to say that we should boycott the match against Pakistan,” she said while talking to ANI.
‘Players should take a stand’
She said that the BCCI cannot force players to play at gunpoint. “They (players) should take a stand for their country. But they are not doing it. I would like to ask the sponsors and broadcasters if their nationality for those 26 families is finished?…”

Questioning how will the revenue be utilised, she asked, “What will the revenue from the match be used? Pakistan will use this just for terrorism…That is a terrorist nation…You will provide them revenue and prepare them to attack us once again.”
“I cannot understand this…I urge people to boycott this. Do not go to watch this and do not switch on your TV for this…” the woman added.
India-Pak match in UAE leads to row in the country
The India-Pakistan cricket match in the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE has led to a massive row back in India where the opposition parties, and people on social media are calling to boycott the game. Though the BCCI had clarified that India will not engage with Pakistan in any bilateral tournament, it refused to do so in multinational tournaments.
India and Pakistan are part of Group A in the Asia Cup and they will face each other on Sunday (September 14).
Leaders of various political parties including Aam Aadmi Party and Uddhav Sena have slammed the government and the BCCI for playing against Pakistan, just months after the horrific Pahalgam attack.
