Pakistani spy arrested: Amid India-Pakistan tensions post Operation Sindoor, Delhi Police has uncovered a major ISI-linked espionage network operating within Indian borders. In a covert operation conducted between January and March 2025, two Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agents were arrested, including Ansarul Mian Ansari, a Nepal-origin operative, reported ANI, quoting Delhi Police.

According to police sources, secret military documents were recovered from the accused, and both have been lodged in Tihar Jail. The chargesheet in the case was filed in May 2025.

Ansarul was apprehended from a hotel in Delhi, where he was allegedly preparing to send sensitive information to Pakistan. His background reveals he was formerly a cab driver in Qatar, where he came into contact with an ISI handler. He was then taken to Pakistan via Nepal and trained by senior ISI officials before being dispatched to India.

As per Delhi Police officials, Ansarul entered India through Nepal under instructions to collect and transmit sensitive data. He was reportedly trying to travel to Pakistan when he was arrested. Investigators revealed he had been tasked with creating a CD of classified documents and forwarding it to Pakistan. His interrogation led to the arrest of another individual in Ranchi, further exposing the reach of the network.

12 alleged ISI spy more arrested across Punjab, Haryana, and UP

Following Operation Sindoor, a broader anti-espionage effort, at least 12 more individuals have been arrested over the past two weeks from Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Among the arrested are two women, including a popular YouTuber, Jyoti Malhotra, from Haryana with over 3.77 lakh YouTube subscribers and 1.33 lakh Instagram followers. Another woman, 31-year-old Guzala from Punjab, is also in custody.

Both women were allegedly in contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, an officer at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, who reportedly operated under the alias Danish. On May 13, the Indian government expelled the Pakistani official for engaging in espionage activities.

India’s intelligence agencies continue to monitor cross-border infiltration and espionage networks, especially in light of growing tensions with Pakistan.
