In a significant development, the Delhi Police successfully dismantled an Al Qaeda terror module, and detained 14 individuals from Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Acting on intelligence inputs, the Delhi Police, in collaboration with the local police forces, carried out a coordinated operation across these states.
The module, reportedly led by Dr. Ishtiyaq from Ranchi, Jharkhand, was planning to establish a “khilafat” and carry out significant terrorist activities within India, according to a police statement. The detained individuals were allegedly involved in rigorous weapons training at various locations.
Six individuals were detained in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, where they were in the midst of weapons training, while eight others were detained from Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh for questioning. The detainees are currently being interrogated, and further arrests are expected. Raids are ongoing to recover arms, ammunition, and documents.
