A day before vote counting commences for the Delhi Assembly elections, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday alleged that the Election Commission (EC) has refused to upload Form 17C, which details votes polled at each booth, despite multiple requests from the party. In response, AAP has launched its own website, where it has uploaded Form 17C data for all Assembly constituencies.
Kejriwal, in a post on X, stated, “This form contains all details of votes polled at each booth. Throughout the day, we will present data for every Assembly and every booth in a tabulated format so that every voter can access this information.”
Criticising the Election Commission, Kejriwal asserted that ensuring such transparency should have been its responsibility. “It is unfortunate that the EC is refusing to do so,” he said.
The high-stakes counting will determine whether AAP secures a fourth consecutive term or if the BJP returns to power in Delhi after 27 years. The Congress, having drawn a blank in the last two elections, is also hoping to make a comeback.
Several exit polls have predicted an edge for the BJP over AAP, which has governed the capital since 2015. The counting process will begin at 8 AM, with early trends expected within hours. The total voter turnout for the election stood at 60.54 percent, according to the Election Commission.
