The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to hold a crucial meeting on Friday (January 7) with all 70 candidates contesting the Delhi Assembly elections, ahead of the results on Saturday (February 8). According to sources, the meeting will take place at 11:30 AM and will focus on preparations for the results and addressing concerns over alleged horse-trading of MLAs.
Kejriwal Accuses BJP of Poaching AAP Candidates
Amid speculation over election results, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a post on X, Kejriwal claimed that BJP leaders were attempting to lure AAP candidates with money and ministerial positions. “In the last two hours, 16 of our candidates have received calls offering Rs 15 crore each and ministerial positions if they leave AAP and join BJP,” reads the AAP national convenor’s post on X.
He further questioned the credibility of exit polls, which largely predict a BJP victory, stating: “If BJP is winning more than 55 seats, why do they need to call our candidates?”
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi also backed these claims, while the BJP has strongly denied the allegations.
Exit Polls Predictions
Various exit polls have projected different outcomes for the Delhi elections:
P-MARQ Poll: BJP 39-49 seats, AAP 21-31 seats, Congress 0-1 seat.
WeePreside Poll: AAP 46-52 seats, BJP 18-23 seats, Congress 0-1 seat.
Meanwhile, other polls predict a BJP sweep with 51-60 seats.
Votes will be counted on February 8, and results will determine whether AAP can retain power after dominating Delhi’s last two assembly elections. The political atmosphere remains tense as both parties gear up for the final verdict.
