In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP over three terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in as many days, Opposition parties on Wednesday questioned his silence on the incidents and accused him of ignoring pressing issues to join victory celebrations.
They claimed that the BJP’s chest-thumping and “hollow” claims of the return of peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir have been thoroughly exposed by the three terror attacks in the region in the past three days.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Modi of being busy in celebrating his victory instead of addressing prevailing issues. In a post on his official handle on X, he wrote, “Narendra Modi is busy responding to congratulatory messages and cannot even hear the cries of the families of the devotees who were brutally killed in Jammu and Kashmir.”
“There have been three separate terror incidents in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda in the last three days, but the Prime Minister is still busy celebrating… The country is demanding answers – why are those plotting terrorist attacks not caught under the BJP government?” he asked.
Congress leader Pawan Khera, who oversees the media and publicity department, slammed Modi for staying silent on the issue, alleging that he responds to Pakistani leaders but does not condemn the brutal terror attacks.
Key INDIA Bloc ally and Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray reacted to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming PM Modi is incapable of handling situations like Manipur or Kashmir. “If Modi can’t handle it, then he has no right to be the prime minister for a third term.” Thackeray said.
“Lives are being lost. Who is responsible for the terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir?” the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader asked.
Attacking Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the series of terror attack, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said that the former BJP chief was busy in “wiping out the opposition”. Raut alleged that during Shah’s entire tenure as Home Minister, the “highest number” of security forces and civilians were killed in Jammu and Kashmir.

“In Amit Shah’s tenure, terrorism never stopped. Since he took over as Home Minster, terrorism kept happening in Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur. But such news was restricted from reaching to people,” the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader told reporters on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah suggested that the Centre hold talks with Pakistan to end terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the NC president said, “I have always said that terrorism is not going to end unless there is an understanding between the two nations (India and Pakistan). Terrorism will continue, and we will have to face it. The tragedy is that innocent people are getting killed, and that is unfortunate.” He warned that more innocent people would lose their lives unless “we wake up” and “find a solution to this”.
On Wednesday, a CRPF jawan was killed, and six security personnel were injured in two overnight encounters with terrorists in Kathua and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, nine people were killed and 33 injured when terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on Sunday evening, causing the vehicle to fall into a gorge.
