The BJP has urged Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena to instruct the Delhi government to take legal action against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly “hijacking” the official “CMO Delhi” social media handle on X. Earlier, the Chief Minister’s Office requested X to restore the handle, which had reportedly been renamed to “KejriwalAtWork.”

In a letter to the Lt Governor on Friday, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva called for legal action against Kejriwal for renaming the handle and using it for personal posts. “I have asked the LG to direct the IT department to take legal action against Kejriwal and to prevent such incidents in the future,” Sachdeva told reporters.

Responding to the issue, outgoing Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, in a press conference, stated that X has clear legal guidelines on account ownership and that necessary actions would be taken according to those rules.

The AAP, meanwhile, accused the BJP of making “baseless allegations” and urged the party to focus on governing rather than such claims. The BJP, having returned to power in Delhi after 26 years, is still in the process of forming its government.

Additionally, Sachdeva mentioned that he had written to the Delhi Lt Governor, urging power distribution companies to clarify the “misleading claims” made by Atishi about power cuts in the city.
