Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Chief Minister of the national capital. The event is set to take place on Thursday at Ramleela Ground, with several VVIPs, VIPs, and a large public gathering expected to attend.
To ensure smooth traffic movement, multiple diversions and restrictions will be in place during the event. Key routes, including Subhash Park T-Point, Raj Ghat, Delhi Gate, ITO, Ajmeri Gate, Ranjeet Singh Flyover, Bhabhuti Marg – DDU Marg Red Light, and Jhandewalan, will experience traffic diversions.
Timings and affected areas
According to the advisory, traffic regulations will be enforced from 7 AM to 4 PM on Thursday in several areas, including BSZ Marg (ITO to Delhi Gate), JLN Marg (Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk), Aruna Asif Ali Road, Minto Road to Kamla Market roundabout, Ranjeet Singh flyover to Turkman Gate, Ajmeri Gate to Kamla Market roundabout.
Advisory for commuters
To minimise congestion, commuters are advised to use public transport as much as possible, park only in designated parking areas, avoid roadside parking to ensure smooth traffic flow and take Paharganj-side roads for New Delhi Railway Station instead of Ajmeri Gate side.
Additionally, the public is urged to report any suspicious activity or objects to the police immediately.
