Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Telugu Desam Party leader, will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, June 12, following a decisive victory in the state Assembly elections.

This marks a significant return to power for Naidu, who previously served as the first Chief Minister of the bifurcated Andhra Pradesh from 2014 to 2019 before losing the 2019 elections and serving as an Opposition leader until now.

Naidu expressed his gratitude to supporters and highlighted the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the swearing-in ceremony. “With all your cooperation, I am swearing in tomorrow (as the CM) and I would like to thank you all for that. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming for the swearing-in ceremony,” Naidu stated.

Prominent faces to attend the Vijaywada ceremony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Ministers JP Nadda and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with several other prominent leaders, are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. TDP along with the BJP and JSP contested the polls in an alliance. Not just Assembly, the alliance was also successful in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election results.

The ceremony is expected to attract notable attendees, including prominent figures from the entertainment industry. Media reports indicate that superstar Ram Charan will be present at the event. Additionally, Ram Charan’s father, renowned actor Chiranjeevi, has been invited as a state guest for the oath-taking ceremony. Superstar Rajnikanth is also likely to attend the event along with Allu Arjun, reports suggest.

This victory represents a significant political comeback for Naidu, who has been a prominent figure in Andhra Pradesh politics for decades. His leadership and the alliance’s strategy have been credited for the sweeping electoral success.

According to sources from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), invitations for the swearing-in ceremony have been extended to farmers who contributed their land for the Amaravati capital project, as well as individuals who were allegedly harassed during the previous YSR Congress regime.
