The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry against Satyendar Jain, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi prisons minister. The investigation pertains to allegations under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Jain, currently incarcerated in relation to a money laundering case, stands accused of purportedly extorting Rs 10 crore from an inmate named Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The alleged extortion was purportedly in exchange for ensuring Chandrashekhar's safety while in jail, PTI reports, citing sources.
