A 33-year-old Myanmar national was arrested from Mizoram’s Champhai district for possessing heroin worth Rs 2 crore, an official said on Saturday. The supply of intoxicanting drugs before elections is an old story in Mizoram.

Magnitude 4.3 earthquake strikes China’s Guangdong

DTC bus lose control in Rohini, 1 killed

A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) low-floor electric bus rammed into more than a dozen vehicles in Rohini South here on Saturday, killing a man, police said. The accident occurred around 2.45 pm near Vishram Chowk in Awantika. The bus hit a car, then an e-rickshaw and two-wheelers parked on the side of a road, they said. Police have the CCTV footage of the crash.
A man died on the spot while another was injured, police said, adding that it seems the bus driver lost control of the vehicle.
The injured was hospitalised and further investigations are underway, they said. (PTI)

19-year-old arrested for sending threat emails to Mukesh Ambani

One accused arrested from Telangana for allegedly sending multiple threat emails to industrialist Mukesh Ambani. Gamdevi police say that the accused identified as Ganesh Ramesh Vanpardhi was arrested and produced before the court and remanded to police custody till November 8. (ANI)

Odisha gets investment proposals worth Rs 4,940 crore in wind energy sector

The Odisha government has received investment proposals worth Rs 4,940 crore from investors for wind energy projects, an official said. This came to the fore here on Friday when GRIDCO, a state government undertaking and the nodal agency for the development of renewable energy, in collaboration with its technical partner iFOREST, organized ‘Odisha Wind Energy Summit – Investor Round Table’ to explore investment opportunities in the wind power sector, the official said.

IMD sounds ‘orange alert’ in three districts of Kerala

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded ‘orange alert’ for Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts today, indicating a very heavy rainfall on Saturday. The Met Department also predicted very heavy rainfall in three districts, namely Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Ernakulam. The IMD has issued heavy rainfall warnings across several districts in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Yellow alert in districts Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts of Kerala has been issued for today. Yellow alert in 7 districts of Kerala namely, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod has been issued for Sunday. (ANI)

EAM Jaishankar meets Italian President Mattarella

Militants attack air force base in central Pakistan -military

Six militants attacked an air force training base in the central Pakistani area of Mianwali on Saturday morning, the country’s military said. Three militants were killed before they entered the base and the other three had been cornered, the military said in a statement, adding that three grounded aircraft and a fuel tanker had been damaged thus far in the attack.
