Body parts of an unidentified woman were found in three black polythene bags in an abandoned CISF barrack in Kolkata on Tuesday, reports The Indian Express.

Police said that the woman body, who was supposedly married, is identified to be around 35 years and her head and parts of the legs were recovered by police.

The incident took place nearby the Watgunge police station area.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Syed Waquar Raza said that the prima facie it seems that she was murdered some place else and deliberately her body was chopped off.

A brick was also found inside the bag which contained the head, suggesting that it was attempted to dump the body in the water, a police officer said, adding that there were no blood stains found in the place where the bags were found.

Police said a few youths who were around in the area spotted the polythene bags and informed police.

Photos of the victim’s head has been circulated across all city stations and police have zeroed in on two missing area from the city, who share similar features.

Probe in the case is underway, and CCTV footage is being verified, said DC (Port) Harikrishna Pai told reporters.
