With mixed reactions from critics as well as audience, Bipasha Basu-Karan Singh Grover starrer ‘Alone’ box office collections have been very average. Opening at Rs 3.5 crore, latest horrex movie from Bollywood has managed to close the first weekend collecting around Rs 14 crore in the domestic market.

Overall, ‘Alone’ box office collections stand at Rs 16.1 crore after adding Rs 2.1 crore to the kitty on Monday.

The trade website Koimoi reported that ‘Alone’ generated Rs 4.50 crore from Saturday and a good number on Sunday, mostly from single screens in the territories it was  expected to score well. Going by latest benchmarks, set by Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’, ‘Alone’ box office collections may not have been much to write home about, the movie is faring better than the other two releases, ‘Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene’ and ‘Crazy Cukkad Family’.

However, the Hindi version of Vikram and Amy Jackson starrer ‘I’ has done a relatively better job, collecting Rs 9.15 crore, with Rs 7.90 crore from the opening weekend.

Transgenders in Tamil Nadu have been up in arms against the latest Tamil movie, directed by Shankar, for reportedly portraying them in poor light. Double Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman has scored the music for the film.
