Big Boss OTT winner and YouTuber Elvish Yadav, who was arrested on Sunday in the snake venom case, has admitted to arranging and supplying snakes and snake venom at rave parties, reports NDTV.

Known for his controversial presence on social media platforms, Elvish Yadav has also confessed during his questioning that he knew the other accused arrested for supplying snake venom last year, the NDTV report said.

Despite initially denying any involvement in the snake venom scandal, he later disclosed his encounters with the accused at multiple rave parties and acknowledged maintaining contact with them.

Following his arrest on Sunday by Noida police, Yadav was brought before a special court in Surajpur, which remanded him to 14-day judicial custody. He was one of six individuals named in an FIR filed at Noida’s Sector 49 police station on November 3 last year. While the five other accused, identified as snake charmers, were apprehended in November, they are currently out on bail, according to officials.

A case has been registered under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, along with Indian Penal Code sections 120B (related to criminal conspiracy), 284 (concerning negligent conduct related to poison endangering human safety), and 289 (related to negligent conduct with respect to animals).

Police officials also stated that charges under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act were added to the case, leading to the arrest of Yadav, a resident of Haryana’s Gurugram, as reported by PTI.

It has also been revealed that during the investigation, Noida police found samples, which were confirmed by a forensic laboratory to be “snake venom.”

“The accused has been arrested by a team of Sector 20 police station which was investigating the case,” Additional DCP (Noida) Manish Mishra told PTI. During the probe, the case was transferred from Sector 49 police station to Sector 20 police station, he added.

Yadav was subsequently lodged in Luksar jail in Greater Noida, as per police reports.

Meanwhile, a sub-inspector, who was also in charge of Sector 49 police station where the FIR was lodged, was reassigned shortly after the case was filed, following a complaint from an official of the animal rights group People For Animals (PFA).

The incident unfolded on November 3 when five individuals were arrested from a banquet hall in Sector 51. Authorities rescued nine snakes, including five cobras, from their possession, along with the seizure of 20 ml of suspected snake venom.

Despite Yadav not being present at the party hall, police were investigating his alleged involvement in the case of snake venom use as a recreational drug.PFA chairperson and BJP leader Maneka Gandhi accused Yadav of illegally selling snake venom and demanded his immediate arrest.

On November 4, Yadav was briefly detained for questioning by police in Rajasthan’s Kota while travelling with friends in a car, but he was released soon after.
