Bengaluru, known as India’s IT capital, continues to reel under a flood-like situation as heavy rains lash the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rainfall for the city on Friday, October 25. The IMD’s latest update suggests that the city will experience a generally cloudy sky with light rain, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 21°C.
Over 1,000 Homes Flooded in Yelahanka Zone
The northern part of Bengaluru, especially Yelahanka, experienced severe flooding after a thunderstorm on Tuesday night. While water has receded from most houses and roads, some streets still remain waterlogged. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) reported that over 1,000 homes in 28 residential areas were flooded on Monday night, with water remaining stagnant in certain areas until Tuesday evening.
Authorities have been working to drain water from affected areas, but Kendriya Vihar Apartments in Yelahanka remains one of the worst-hit spots. While water has naturally drained in most locations, officials continue to pump out water where it remains stagnant.
The IMD has also forecast light to moderate rainfall in isolated areas across Karnataka for the rest of the week, raising concerns of further disruptions in Bengaluru and surrounding regions.
