A man was attacked and killed inside a bakery shop in Bengaluru, officials said on Monday. The murder was captured in CCTV at the spot and showed the victim being attacked by an armed group of people holding machetes. Victim Chenappa Narinal can be seen screaming and running to save himself in the disturbing video.

The CCTV footage further showed the incident took place on May 31 in Bengaluru’s Koppal district. At least two men can be seen attacking 35-year-old Narinal, while one person jumped at him with a wooden log.

In an attempt to save himself, the man ran out of the bakery, following which he was stabbed multiple times. The accused fled the scene immediately afterwards.

As per the CCTV footage, the incident took place on May 31 in the Koppal district of Bengaluru. At least two men were seen attacking the 35-yearo-old while one person made physical advances at him making a gory scene at the shop.

Investigative action

The Karnataka Police have arrested seven accused men, namely, Ravi, Pradeep, two Manjunaths, Nagaraj, Gautam, and Pramod on Monday, June 2. The motive was evidently identified as a prior enmity or a property dispute. Later, upon arrest, one of the accused admitted that their actions stemmed from a family dispute after 2022 Panchayat elections.

Senior officials, Gangavathi DySP and Tavaragera CPI, were seen at the site, kick starting further investigation.

Violence in Bengaluru

In a separate incident in Bengaluru, a woman led gang assaulted a man over a business rivalry gone wrong. Leaving him injured, the victim had reportedly left his job at a salon owned by the women.

The women were identified as Smitha, Kavya and Mohammed and were accompanied by two other men. Caught in the surveillance camera again, the incident showed disturbing details of violence.

This is not the only incident from the earlier this week as a woman was seen using her slipper on an auto-rickshaw driver following a road side dispute. She was identified at Pankhuri Mishra, a migrant from Bihar.

Videos from these incidents have gone viral on social media as residents are concerned over the growing crime rate in Bengaluru. No matter how developed, the districts like Hebbal, Yelhanka and Bellandur have seen repeated reports just from this week alone.
