Delhi Assembly LoP and AAP leader Atishi on Thursday claimed that AAP MLAs were denied entry into the Vidhan Sabha and this was done following the order of Lok Sabha Speaker. Speaking to ANI, Atishi said, “Police officers are saying that AAP MLAs are banned from the Delhi Assembly premises. They are saying that they have orders from the speaker to stop the AAP MLAs at the gate. It has never happened in the entire parliamentary history of the country.”

Around 21 MLAs, including Atishi herself, were suspended from the House for three days for shouting ‘Jai Bhim’ slogans as LG VK Saxena was trying to deliver his speech. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta had on Thursday said that a discussion on CAG will be held in the House, as many speakers are also requesting to speak on the issue. He added that a motion to ‘divert attention’ has been proposed by AAP. He further added that the delay in releasing the CAG report by AAP was aimed at stopping the truth from reaching the public.

BJP vs AAP on CAG Reports

A report from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) that was presented in the Delhi assembly on Tuesday stated that the Delhi government lost over Rs 2,000 crore in revenue due to AAP’s 2021-2022 excise policy. The losses were caused by problems like weak policy framework and poor implementation.

The report, one of 14 examining the performance of the previous Aam Aadmi Party government, was presented by the new BJP Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, on the second day of the first session of the newly elected Delhi Assembly.
