Hospitality company OYO is offering free stays daily from March 13 till 18 at more than 1,000 OYO-services hotels including Townhouse — budget friendly premium hotel brand and Collection O catering to business travellers.
“This weekend let’s remind us of what truly matters—being together, celebrating every moment, and making memories that last. And what better way to do that than by traveling, meeting loved ones, and enjoying a well-earned break?” Founder Ritesh Agarwal said in a post on X on Thursday announcing the offer to celebrate India’s Champions Trophy victory and Holi festival.
Customers can use code CHAMPIONS on the OYO app or website to avail the offer.
Importantly, premium brands under the OYO umbrella Townhouse and Sunday contribute 50 per cent of the company’s business while the rest comes from the OYO brand, Agarwal said at a recent TiEcon event in Mumbai.
OYO saw Rs 30,000 crore in bookings around India in FY25, of which around Rs 24,000 crore came from customers outside India, according to Agarwal.
Moreover, around 20 per cent of the company’s top line comes from its hotels in spiritual destinations including Varanasi, Tirupati, Kanyakumari, and Somnath. Agarwal said India’s spiritual tourism centres is expected to add $150 billion to $200 billion to the country’s GDP in the three-four years.
The company is expecting Rs 1,100 crore in net profit for the next financial year 2025-26, according to a PTI report earlier this month. The EBITDA for the IPO-bound company is estimated to be Rs 2,000 crore for the same period on the back of its last year’s acquisition of US-based G6 Hospitality, which operates the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands, from Blackstone Real Estate for $525 million.
OYO was recently surrounded by a controversy following an ad in a prominent Hindi newspaper that was considered offensive to religious sentiments. The advertisement carried the line, “Bhagwan Har Jagah Hai Aur OYO Bhi” (God is everywhere and so is OYO), comparing God’s omnipresence to OYO’s reach, which led to the backlash faced by the company.
In January this year, the company had introduced a major change in its policy for partner hotels in Meerut to restrict check-in of unmarried couples.
