To make travel smooth and convenient during the festive season, the Central Railway (CR) zone is running 60 extra special trains this year. Ticket bookings for these festival trains have already started, and passengers can plan their trips in advance.
Meanwhile, Indian Railways is also expanding its Amrit Bharat Express network planned across the country. New features include the Kavach anti-collision system, EP-assisted braking, and fully sealed coaches.

Chhath Puja: PM Modi pushes for UNESCO recognition
Thousands of devotees gather every year at the ghats of the Ganga to celebrate Chhath Puja, one of India’s most sacred Hindu festivals, primarily celebrated in the states of Bihar and UP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday (September 28, 2025) that the government is working to get Chhath Mahaparva listed as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The Prime Minister of India added that similar efforts helped Durga Puja in Kolkata gain a place on the UNESCO list. “Festivals like these keep our culture alive. Chhath Puja is a sacred celebration after Diwali, dedicated to the Sun God. It is truly special,” he said.
