Four coaches of the Vande Bharat Express, traveling from Amb-Andaura station to New Delhi, were damaged when stones were thrown at the train, officials informed on Sunday (October 6). Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the incident.

According to officials, unidentified individuals targeted the train near Basal village around 1:15 PM on Saturday, shattering the window panes of two coaches. Railway police are currently assessing the extent of the damage and are making all efforts to apprehend those responsible.

The four coaches which suffered heavy damage in this incident are E-1, E-2, C-7 and C-10 coaches. 

In another stone-pelting incident involving the Vande Bharat Express, five individuals were arrested for damaging the Durg-Visakhapatnam train during a trial run in Chhattisgarh’s Mahasamund district. 

This incident occurred around 9 PM on a Friday as the train was passing through Bagbahra railway station on its return journey from Visakhapatnam to Durg during the trial run, according to Praveen Singh Dhakad, inspector of the Railway Protection Force (Mahasamund). The train was scheduled to be flagged off from Durg for regular service on September 16.
