Southern Railway has announced changes to the pattern of train services in the Salem division for December due to ongoing engineering works. The modifications include diversions and short-terminations of several trains to facilitate these activities. Passengers are requested to take note of the changes and plan their journeys accordingly.

Diversion of Train Services:

  1. Train No. 13352 Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express:
    Scheduled departure from Alappuzha at 06:00 hrs on 02nd December 2024, this train will be diverted to run via Podanur and Irugur, skipping its usual stop at Coimbatore. Passengers can board at Podanur, with arrival at 12:15 AM and departure at 12:20 AM.
  2. Train No. 12678 Ernakulam-KSR Bengaluru Intercity Express:
    Departing from Ernakulam at 09:10 hrs on 02nd December 2024, this train will also be diverted to run via Podanur and Irugur, bypassing Coimbatore. An additional stop will be provided at Podanur, with arrival at 12:47 AM and departure at 12:50 AM.
  3. Train No. 22815 Bilaspur-Ernakulam Superfast Express:
    Scheduled to leave Bilaspur at 08:15 hrs on 02nd December 2024, this train will also be diverted via Irugur and Podanur, skipping its stop at Coimbatore. Podanur will serve as the new stop.

Short Termination of Train Services:

  1. Train No. 06009 Mettupalayam-Podanur MEMU:
    Departing Mettupalayam at 08:20 hrs on 02nd December 2024, this train will be short-terminated at Coimbatore. Services between Coimbatore and Podanur will be cancelled.
  2. Train No. 06458 Shoranur-Coimbatore Passenger:
    Scheduled for the 02nd, 03rd, 05th, 06th, and 08th of December 2024, this train will be short-terminated at Podanur. Services between Podanur and Coimbatore will be cancelled.
