To accommodate the passenger surge during the Sabarimala pilgrimage season, the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced 18 special train services, including two from Hyderabad. These trains aim to provide a seamless travel experience for devotees visiting the revered shrine in Kerala.
The Moula Ali – Kollam (07143) service will operate on December 6, 13, 20, and 27. The return service, Kollam – Moula Ali (07144), will run on December 8, 15, 22, and 29. Each train will feature First AC, 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches to cater to passengers of different travel preferences.
SCR officials highlighted the need for these additional services due to the significant rise in demand during the pilgrimage season. Travellers can avail of advance bookings for these special trains starting from 8 a.m. on November 20.
The initiative is expected to significantly ease the travel challenges faced by devotees and ensure a more comfortable journey to and from Sabarimala. With the pilgrimage season witnessing an influx of travellers across the region, SCR’s proactive measures reflect its commitment to serving the needs of the public effectively.
