Western Railway (WR) has put up dynamic digital display boards on the side panels of suburban train coaches to improve the travel experience for passengers. This initiative has been taken to ease commuters’ travel experience. Now, passengers don’t need to check in the information counter for train details. Important details like the train’s destination, number of cars (12 or 15), and type of the train (slow or fast) will be displayed on the digital display board.
Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer, Vineet Abhishek said that the motive is to provide immediate details about the train to the passengers in a clear format. As a result, it will make the journey of the commuters hassle-free and convenient. It will also make passengers more informed and help them to board the right train.
Information to be displayed in three dialect
Mumbai commuters will be able to see the information on eight digital displays with a panoramic view. Each of the boards is installed evenly on both sides of the rake. Mumbai Suburban Network travelers will be able to read the information on train particulars in Hindi, Marathi, and English. The details in all three languages will be displayed on the board in a gap of three seconds.
As far as now, reactions received from the commuters are positive, Western Railways PRO added. Putting up more display boards on additional rakes is also on the agenda for the future.
Meanwhile, Western Railways in a press release has informed that maintenance work is currently going on UP and down fast lines between Vasai Road and Bhayandar stations on the night of June 15th and June 16th. The maintenance will be done on signaling, racks, and overhead equipment. During the block period which will commence from 11:30 pm on June 15 and will go on till 4:45 am on June 16. All the fast-line trains will run on a slow line between Virar and Bhayandar /Borivali route.
