Two wagons of goods train near Tupkadih station in Jharkhand’s Bokaro got derailed and has led to disrupting the movement of several trains, as per a railway official. As per the latest report, around 15 trains inclusive of 14 express train services have been redirected to alternate routes. The goods trains that got derailed at 9 p.m. were carrying steel consignment from Bokaro Steel Plant and it was in between Tupkadih and Bokaro stations when it got overturned on the main line. One of the affected lines has been restored whereas work on the second line is currently going on.
The derailment which happened at the Tupkadih station near the northern cabin yard has majorly disrupted the Bokaro-Gomo section resulting in the halting of several trains and creating inconvenience to many passengers.
According to a notice released by the South East Railways, the incident has led to disruption in both the up and down lines. Several trains have been affected because of the derailment including Ranchi-Bhagalpur Vananchal Express, Varanasi-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express, and Ranchi Dhanbad Intercity. A probe regarding the derailment of the train has been issued by the railways.
Meanwhile, another derailment case that happened near Vrindavan of Uttar Pradesh was because insufficient maintenance triggered the incident. The reason was disclosed by a preliminary joint investigation. However, the North Central Railway has mentioned that the report assessment is at a very early stage, and the final report can present a different angle too. The coal-loaded train left for Mathura at 7:36 PM and felt a decline in speed after passing Vrindavan Yard around 7.54 pm because of a sudden drop in brake pipe pressure which led to derailment within 47 seconds.
The NCR official has stated that a detailed inquiry represented by a committee of railway officials has been launched to investigate the case properly.
