About Amrit Bharat Station Scheme:
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Indian Railways has embarked on the task of redevelopment of 1309 railway stations across India. Out of these, four railway stations (including Jammu Tawi Railway Station) will be transformed in India’s Jammu and Kashmir state.
For the ongoing development of stations, the Amrit Bharat Station scheme has a long-term vision. It involves making Master Plans and executing them in phases to improve many station facilities. These enhancements include bettering station accessibility, cleanliness, offering free Wi-Fi, waiting areas, toilet facilities, lift and escalator installations as needed, setting up kiosks for local products through initiatives like ‘One Station One Product’, establishing Executive Lounges, designating spaces for business meetings, incorporating landscaping, enhancing passenger information systems, and catering to the unique requirements of each railway station.
