Persistent dense fog and bitter cold weather conditions continued to disrupt travel plans for both trains and flights to and from the national capital on Sunday (January 21) morning, causing significant inconvenience for passengers. The arrival of numerous passenger trains in Delhi encountered delays of up to 4 hours or more today.

The dense fog resulted in 11 Delhi-bound trains running behind schedule, exacerbating the challenges posed by the prevailing weather conditions across various parts of the country. Travelers faced prolonged waiting times and disruptions as transportation services grappled with the adverse effects of the dense fog.

Moreover, passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport encountered delays and cancellations of several flights due to low visibility caused by foggy conditions.

Dense fog over north India disrupts travel

Meanwhile, the IMD has forecast the maximum and minimum temperatures for Sunday at 18 and 9 degree Celsius, respectively. Dense to very dense fog conditions are likely to persist over parts of north India for the next five days.

The IMD has also said that cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over Bihar and north Madhya Pradesh and expand to more parts of north India during 21-22 January.
