Indian Railways has launched the commercial operations of the fifth Vande Bharat Express train in West Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off this new semi-high-speed train from Ahmedabad on March 12. The introduction of this semi high-speed train signifies a significant advancement in the country’s rail network and marks a revolution in train travel across India.
Operating between New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and Patna (PNBE), the train will be managed and run by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone.
New Jalpaiguri-Patna Vande Bharat Express coach composition
The Vande Bharat Express train service between New Jalpaiguri and Patna will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. Consisting of eight coaches, the train includes seven AC Chair Cars and one Executive Chair Car.

This orange and grey colored train will make stops at six stations along its route. These stations include Kishanganj, Katihar Junction, Naugachia, Khagaria Junction, Begusarai, and Patna Saheb.

Passengers traveling between New Jalpaiguri and Patna Junction railway station on the Vande Bharat Express train will be charged Rs 1180 for AC Chair Car and Rs 2245 for Executive Chair Car tickets.

Train number 22233 will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 05:15 hrs and make stops at Kishanganj at 06:15 hrs, Katihar at 07:45 hrs, Navgachia at 08:35 hrs, Khagaria at 09:30 hrs, Begusarai at 09:58 hrs, halt at Patna Sahib at 11:43 hrs, and finally arrive at Patna Junction at 12:10 hrs. On its return journey, train no. 22234, the Patna-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express, will depart from Patna Junction at 13:00 hrs, stopping at Patna Sahib at 13:12 hrs, Begusarai at 15:18 hrs, Khagaria at 15:48 hrs, Navgachia at 16:33 hrs, Katihar at 17:35 hrs, Kishanganj at 18:44 hrs, and ultimately reaching New Jalpaiguri at 20:00 hrs.
