To facilitate smooth transit for election personnel and the public during the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections, Central Railway has announced the operation of special suburban trains. These services will run on the nights of November 19-20 and November 20-21, according to an official release.

Service Details for Main and Harbour Lines

The special trains will operate on the Main Line (CSMT-Kalyan) and the Harbour Line (CSMT-Panvel). Specifically, on November 19-20, CSMT-Kalyan, CSMT to Panvel, and Panvel to CSMT trains will be available. Similarly, on November 20-21, services will include CSMT-Kalyan, Kalyan to CSMT, and CSMT to Panvel.

All special trains will halt at all stations between CSMT-Kalyan and CSMT-Panvel, ensuring comprehensive coverage for passengers. These additional services are expected to enhance connectivity and ease the movement of election participants, as per the release. Passengers are encouraged to utilize these special trains for their convenience.

The Maharashtra Assembly Elections, set for November 20, will witness a significant face-off between key alliances. The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), will contest against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), consisting of Congress, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP. Vote counting will take place on November 23.
