Overcrowding in trains
Recently, there has been a surge in the complaints of overcrowding seen in Indian trains. Several passengers posted videos online claiming their coaches were ridden with passengers without seats.
This resulted in a growing concern for poorly-managed and overcrowded trains.
Recently, Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, had criticised the government on the issues saying the passengers of every class were being “harassed” due to a reduction in the number of general coaches and the promotion of ‘elite trains’.
