The Charlapalli Satellite Terminal Station (station code – CHZ) is operated by South Central Railways. It has nine platforms and 19 railway tracks. It comes under the Secunderabad division of the Indian Railways.

It is mainly developed to bring down the burden on the other three major terminals which are saturated with a heavy moment of trains and passengers.

Recently, in another development, the Ministry of Railways shared the status report of the Kharagpur-Adityapur 3rd Line Project. It informed that 121.5 km (out of 132 km) is commissioned.

After completion, the Kharagpur-Adityapur 3rd Line will benefit steel and power plants along the Howrah-Mumbai Trunk Route, the ministry added.

At an estimated cost of Rs 1,312.44 crore and anticipated completion cost of Rs 1,483.36 crore, in August 2016, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, gave its approval for the construction of the third line between Kharagpur (Nimpura) and Adityapur in West Singhburn districts of Jharkhand.
