James Fishback, the former DOGE architect and head of an investment firm, is furious that US  companies continue to favour H-1B workers over American employees. He accused firms of calling foreign workers “more skilled” than Americans while running “H-1B scam” beneath the surface.

In a series of fiery posts on X (formerly Twitter), Fishback claimed that US companies are exploiting the visa system to sideline American workers. He said Americans are being “replaced in their own country” and blamed both companies and political parties for allowing it to happen.

‘The real AI isn’t artificial intelligence’

Fishback claimed that the real danger to US jobs doesn’t come from technology but from “arrogant immigration.” Accusing big firms of bias, he said, “The AI that truly threatens American workers is not artificial intelligence—it’s arrogant immigration,” he said. “The arrogance of Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft to announce they’re firing American workers while keeping foreign H-1Bs on the payroll.”

He accused lawmakers from both parties of turning a blind eye. “Congress refuses to end the H-1B scam that lets companies import foreign labour, fire Americans, and then make those same Americans train their replacements,” he said.

Fishback slams US firms for favouring H-1B workers over Americans

In his latest exchange with a Fox News reporter, Fishback didn’t buy into the claim that foreign workers are more skilled than Americans. “CEOs complain they can’t find skilled workers in America,” he said. “But under the H-1B program, they’re not even required to interview an American—not even to post the job publicly for Americans to see.”

He continued, “So how can they say Americans aren’t skilled if you have the unmitigated gall, the unfettered intrepidity, and the unencumbered audacity to not even interview a single American worker?”

He said the issue was personal for him. “My mom lost her job in Florida in 2021 and was replaced by an H-1B worker just weeks later,” Fishback claimed. He added that he refuses to believe the “slanderous lie” pushed by CEOs and the Chamber of Commerce that Americans aren’t skilled enough. “Americans are the brightest, hardest-working, most brilliant people in the world,” he said.

‘America’s children are under attack’

In yet another post, he warned that young Americans are losing hope. “America’s children are under attack,” he wrote. “They’ll study hard, pass their tests, and do everything right,  only to graduate and find there are no jobs left for them.”

He said the crisis won’t be solved in Washington. “The do-nothing Congress will not save us. The solution will come from governors willing to defend their citizens,” he said, calling on states to use their powers under the 10th Amendment.

“If we have to bankrupt companies that sell out American workers, we will,” he added. “Because those same companies are bankrupting American families every day.”

Fishback is the founder and CEO of investment firm Azoria Capital and previously worked at Greenlight Capital before launching his company in 2023. He also runs Incubate Debate, a nonprofit that helps high school students improve their debate skills.

He made headlines earlier this year after parting ways with DOGE following Elon Musk’s criticism of Donald Trump, demanding that Musk apologise to the president.
