Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching various projects worth over Rs 22,600 crore on Thursday, along with flagging off a Metro train in Pune.
The completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1) will be marked by the inauguration of the metro section from District Court to Swargate. The cost of this underground stretch is approximately Rs 1,810 crore.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Swargate-Katraj extension of Pune Metro Phase-1, which will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 2,950 crore. This 5.46 km southern extension will be entirely underground, featuring three stations: Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj.
What are the other projects?
As part of several key projects, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a memorial at Bhidewada, honoring Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s first girls’ school and commemorating the esteemed social reformer.
In line with his vision to make India self-reliant in supercomputing technology he will dedicate three PARAM Rudra Supercomputers, developed indigenously under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM), to the nation. These supercomputers are valued at approximately Rs 130 crore. These supercomputers have been deployed in Pune, Delhi, and Kolkata to support cutting-edge scientific research.
He will inaugurate several initiatives in the petroleum and natural gas sector valued at Rs 10,400 crore, with a focus on energy, infrastructure, driver safety and convenience, cleaner mobility, and a sustainable future.
To improve driving conditions, he will introduce roadside amenities for truck drivers at locations including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra, Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab, Songadh in Gujarat, and Belagavi and Bangalore Rural in Karnataka.
