Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stones for several significant development projects in Maharashtra today, through video conference, amounting to over Rs 7,600 crore, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

One of the key projects is the upgrade of Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, estimated at around Rs 7,000 crore. This upgrade will boost multiple sectors such as manufacturing, aviation, tourism, logistics, and healthcare, benefiting Nagpur and the broader Vidarbha region.

Another major initiative is the foundation stone laying for a New Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport, worth over Rs 645 crore. This terminal is designed with a theme inspired by the spiritual neem tree of Sai Baba and will offer world-class amenities to the large number of religious tourists visiting Shirdi.

In his ongoing commitment to improving healthcare accessibility, PM Modi will also inaugurate the operationalization of 10 Government Medical Colleges across Maharashtra, in cities including Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, and more. These institutions will increase undergraduate and postgraduate seats and provide specialized tertiary healthcare services.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Mumbai, aimed at building an industry-ready workforce equipped with cutting-edge skills in fields like mechatronics, artificial intelligence, and robotics. The IIS is a collaboration between the Tata Education and Development Trust and the Government of India.

PM Modi will also launch the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Maharashtra. This innovative centre will offer live academic and administrative data through platforms like Smart Upasthiti and Swadhyay, enhancing teaching practices and resource management in schools while fostering stronger ties between parents and the state.
