Ram temple in Ayodhya: As the completion of the grand temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi draws near, the Yogi government is directing its efforts towards enhancing connectivity to Ayodhya, with plans to construct a new road named Lakshman Path, as stated in an official communication from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to establish a four-lane connection to the sacred city. The ongoing construction of the 13-kilometer-long Ram Path between Naya Ghat and Sahadatganj is progressing rapidly.

Design of Lakshman Path

The width of the embankment was initially six meters, but it has been expanded to seven meters. Lakshman Path is designed to have a width of 18 meters. The estimated cost for this alternative route is around Rs 200 crore, and the proposal has been submitted to the government for approval. Construction on this project will commence once approval is granted.

Having already completed the Janmabhoomi Path, Bhakti Path and Dharma Path, the Yogi government is now preparing for the construction of Lakshman Path. A comprehensive action plan has been devised for this new alternative route, which will be named after Lord Shri Ram’s younger brother, Lakshman.

According to DM Nitish Kumar, Lakshman Path will stretch from Guptarghat to Rajghat and will feature four lanes. SP Bharti, the Executive Engineer of Construction Unit II of Provincial Block PWD overseeing the Lakshman Path project, stated that this approximately 12-kilometer-long route is planned parallel to the Udaya Harishchandra Ghat embankment.
