Good news for the commuters of Delhi Metro! The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has expanded its innovative WhatsApp-based ticketing system across all the corridors. With this, the metro travellers can purchase tickets with just a single click. This will also enhance the travel experience of passengers on the city’s rapid transit system.
Introduction of WhatsApp-based ticketing system:-
Now, the commuters on Red Line, Yellow Line, Blue Line (3 and 4), Green Line, Violet Line, Pink Line, Magenta Line, Grey Line, Orange Line and Gurugram Rapid Metro can avail the facility of WhatsApp-based ticketing system.
Earlier this year, the DMRC introduced this system on the Airport Express Line (AEL) only. The Delhi Metro has collaborated with Meta and their authorized partner Pelocal Fintech Pvt. Ltd for successful implementation of the same.
How to book Delhi Metro tickets through WhatsApp?
The passengers who want to travel on the Delhi Metro can book their tickets just following a few simple steps. These are:
- The commuters need to ‘Save’ mobile number (+91) 9650855800 on their mobile phone.
- Send a message with the text ‘Hi’ on the above number on WhatsApp.
Now, scan the provided QR code to purchase metro tickets using their smartphone.
This user-friendly WhatsApp chatbot is available in both English and Hindi
Features of DMRC’s WhatsApp ticketing service:-
- Up to a maximum of six QR tickets can be generated by a user in a single time.
- The tickets can be booked between 6 am to 9 pm for all lines and from 4 am to 11 pm for the Airport Express Line (Orange Line).
- The ticket cancellations are not allowed in WhatsApp ticketing.
- A marginal convenience fee will be applied to transactions made via credit/debit card, while no convenience fee will be charged for UPI-based transactions.
