Attention Delhi Metro commuters! Commuters are likely to face significant disruption on the Yellow Line. Train services between Samaypur Badli and Jahangir Puri will be limited to a single track from 10 PM until the end of passenger operations each night, and from the start of services until 7 AM each morning, until further notice.
Following this, from 7 AM to 10 AM, metro services on the entire Yellow Line will operate as usual.
“Due to ongoing Magenta Line extension construction work, train movement between Samaypur Badli and Jahangir Puri on the Yellow Line will continue to be operated on single line from 10 PM till the end of passenger services & from the commencement of services to 7 AM, till further notice. Please plan your commute accordingly. The inconvenience caused is regretted”, DMRC posted on X.
Rithala-Narela Delhi Metro to be extended
Meanwhile, in a move to improve connectivity between Haryana and Delhi, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot announced on Wednesday that the sixth corridor of Phase IV Metro, the Rithala-Narela line, will be extended to Kundli-Nathupur on the Haryana border. This extension aims to significantly ease commuting between the two states.
The expanded project will raise the total estimated cost to Rs 6,230.99 crore and is expected to be completed within four years.
With this extension, the Delhi segment of the line will grow from 22.91 km to 23.737 km, while the Haryana segment will span 2.726 km. The total length of the corridor from Narela to Nathupur will now be 26.463 km, according to the minister.
